Top Beauty Tips for a Radiant Glow this Summer

Top Beauty Tips for a Radiant Glow this Summer

It’s spring and you’ll feel the general mood of the world has changed. The days are longer, the sun shines brighter and we’re all in a more hopeful mood to make small changes in our lifestyle especially with summer just around the corner.

Vidhi Patel, consultant nutritionist at Minerva Research Labs, has outlined top nine beauty hacks for achieving radiant glow this summer:

#1 Zinc is the most important nutrient to slow down the ageing process. Zinc can be found in seafood, egg yolk, seeds and nuts. TOP TIP: Try not to drink for at least 10 minutes after eating nuts and seeds. Liquid will dilute their goodness and will not help digestion!

#2 Dark chocolate – yes chocolate! But only one piece a day as any more and it can prove to have just as much caffeine as coffee. GC Spring Campaign 2 ed

#3 Vitamin E, which can be found in avocados, is an antioxidant which contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress – one of the main causes of the signs of ageing.

#4 Lycopene is a nutrient that has strong antioxidant properties. It can be found in tomatoes and is particularly powerful when they have been cooked.

#5 Resveratrol is a nutrient that can be found in grapes (or a rare glass of wine), and is a powerful antioxidant which protects the cells from oxidative stress.

#6 Vitamin A, which is found in sweet potatoes, carrots and dark leafy greens such as kale, contributes to the maintenance of normal skin.

#7 Magnesium, abundant in bananas, contributes to a reduction of tiredness and fatigue, giving you an energy boost when you need it.

#8 Selenium contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and nails and protects from oxidative stress. Good sources of selenium are oily fish, nuts and seeds.
