Lavera – Hydro Effect Serum

Lavera – Hydro Effect Serum

‘The organic serum is intensely hydrating and has a unique anti-pollution complex consisting of highly effective antioxidants, organic algae and white horehound extract from the mint family. The anti-pollution complex is unique to the Lavera Organic Hydro Effect Serum and helps protect skin form environmental pollution, free radicals and premature skin ageing.’

Lavera are well-known for their natural and organic skin care products, so I was super excited to try one of their newest products – their Hydro Effect Serum.

Featuring an anti-pollution complex, the serum has been specifically designed to protect the skin from harmful environmental factors, such as fine particles and exhaust emissions, which attack skin cells and effect the skin’s natural protection mechanism.

On first inspection, I was really impressed to see that the product is certified by the Vegan Society and NATRUE – so the product is 100 percent natural and organic, and suitable for vegans. It’s also packed with a variety of nourishing, high-quality organic plant extracts – ingredients include aloe vera, mango, peach, shea butter, sunflower seed oil, soybean oil and rapeseed sterols.

The main active ingredients are organic algae and natural hyaluronic acid. The algae protects skin cells, counters the effects of free radicals and prevents premature skin ageing. The hyaluronic acid assists in the synthesis of collagen, therefore helping skin fight the effects of ageing, and helps the skin retain moisture.

The serum has a lighter, runnier consistency than I expected but it was easy to apply and glided across my skin like silk. My skin instantly felt soft and moisturised and I was amazed by how quickly it was absorbed, leaving no greasy texture – just soft, supple and smooth skin. It does have a powerful citrusy, fruit scent, which is due to containing mango, peach and lemon; it is refreshing and a great way to wake up in the morning.

Lavera recommends gently massaging the serum into cleansed skin as the first step of your daily skincare routine. Following the instructions, I apply it to my face morning and night after cleansing – before using my moisturiser. After a week, I can report than my skin feels hydrated, nourished and radiant, and it looks so much clearer.

Priced at £19.90 for a 30ml bottle, it’s reasonably priced compared to other similar products on the market. It has to be highlighted that one pump goes really far too and is enough to cover the entire face, so the 30ml bottle will last a long time. Definitely impressed!
