Doctors’ guidance changed to include CNHC registered practitioners

The General Medical Council (GMC) has changed its guidance to doctors to confirm that they can refer patients to practitioners on Accredited Registers.

Complementary therapists registered with CNHC are all on CNHC’s Accredited Register so your doctor can refer you to a CNHC registered practitioner in your local area.

This does not mean that treatments will be funded by the NHS but it does mean that you can ask your doctor to refer you to a named practitioner or choose someone from CNHC’s register.

You can search for a CNHC registrant in your area here: http://cnhcregister.org.uk/newsearch/

You can see the full wording of the GMC guidance here at section 8: GMC Delegation and Referral Guidance
